Summer Fete at Horsham Hospital

19th May 2019

Sylvie Blackmore DJ and show host on Radio Sussex opened Horsham Hospital Summer Fete on Saturday 18th May in the grounds and car park on Hurst Road, the weather was perfect being bright and sunny and attendance numbers were up on the previous year. The music for the afternoon commenced with OBJAYDA a local duo band with renditions of their own written work which proved very popular, Crawley Millennium Concert band then took over playing many favourite tunes, whilst Ken Hervey entertained those inside on the electric organ. Other attractions included Dr Andrew Leach’s traditional fairground organ, a model railway exhibition by Horsham Model Railway Club inside plus fairground rides and bouncy castle for the children. This year we were joined by other charities stalls including RNLI;   CatS Protection; Olive Tree Foundation and St Catherine’s Hospice  the latter being sponsored by the League of Friends over the next three years for Field Carers in Horsham in end of Life support.

All this was enhanced by 30+ stalls run by League members and Hospital Departments ranging from home made cakes, plants and bottle tombola and attended by Neighbourhood Watch representatives.

This year is the 60th Anniversary of Horsham Hospital League of Friends which was celebrated in May hosted by our Patron Caroline Lucas, who said a few words of thanks to all

Next year the Fete will be held on Saturday 16th May 2020
